Caleta is an ideal resort for both families and those
looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Caleta itself, and the
surrounding area, offers a wide variety of recreational activities,
which are all within walking distance from the complex.
The large expanse of sandy beaches within a 10 minute stroll with shallow waters, and areas of newly built protective coves, are ideal for both children to play and for those looking for a peaceful haven by the sea. The area provides fishing and diving opportunities, and the marina offers the Oceanarium, daily boat trips and many water sport facilities.
The new PGA golf course, offering a driving range and club hire facility, is located within a five minute drive and is also served by the local bus service. This service continues to the newly developed Atlantico shopping centre, set in a landscape of lakes and sea views. The Atlantico, offering a cinema complex, bowling alley, Spa supermarket, and of course, shops and restaurants, can also be reached by a pleasant walk along the beach.
Within Caleta there is a vast assortment of restaurants and bars offering varied cuisine, catering for families with children of all ages. The local supermarkets and shops, most within a short walk, provide all the necessities for tourists, also catering for those with young children. This includes an English speaking pharmacy, which is well equipped for nursing mothers, babies and toddlers, as well as providing over the counter medicines and medical advice. There are also medical practices, some which offer a 24 hour medical service, but accessing this service does require payment if your holiday insurance does not provide sufficient cover. However, it is possible to use the E1 11 (obtainable from the post office in the UK) in the hospital, based in the capital of Rosario, which is only a 20 minute drive from Caleta.
Caleta de Fuste is well situated for exploration of the rest of the island. It is approximately a 35 minute drive to the beautiful sand dunes approaching Corralejo in the north of the island, and in the opposite direction, a one hour drive will take you to the spectacular beaches of Jandia.
